Solid Waste Reduction and Recycling Study Committee (J)
Charge
To conduct a comprehensive review of the goals, regulation, reporting, and status of statewide efforts to reduce and recycle solid waste. The review shall include, but not be limited to, evaluations of the effectiveness of curbside and drop-off recycling programs, composting facilities, unit-based pricing
programs, materials recovery facilities, and solid waste processors or end-users of recovered materials. The review shall also consider the economic development potential for the recycling and reuse of solid waste and the coordination of interagency efforts to achieve cost-effective and environmentally sound statewide solid waste management.
