INTRODUCTION OF BILLS

House File 64, by Jenkins, a bill for an act increasing fines for
moving traffic violations that occur while a vehicle operator is using a
cellular telephone.

Read first time and referred to committee on transportation.

House File 65, by Mascher, Greimann, Lensing, Fallon, and
Myers, a bill for an act prohibiting discrimination based upon a
person's sexual orientation under the Iowa civil rights Act.

Read first time and referred to committee on judiciary.

MESSAGE FROM THE SENATE

The following message was received from the Senate:

Mr. Speaker: I am directed to inform your honorable body that the Senate has on
January 17, 2001, adopted the following resolution in which the concurrence of the
House is asked:

Senate Concurrent Resolution 1, a concurrent resolution supporting the admission
of the Baltic States of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania to the North Atlantic Treaty
Organization.
