1 4 RELATING TO THE RETENTION OF UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS CONTESTED

1 7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

1 9 Section 1. Section 96.11, Code Supplement 2001, is amended
1 10 by adding the following new subsection:
1 11 NEW SUBSECTION. 11A. UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS CONTESTED CASE
1 12 HEARING RECORDS. Notwithstanding the provisions of section
1 13 17A.12 to the contrary, the recording of oral proceedings of a
1 14 hearing conducted before an administrative law judge pursuant
1 15 to section 96.6, subsection 3, in which the decision of the
1 16 administrative law judge is not appealed to the employment
1 17 appeal board, shall be filed with and maintained by the
1 18 department for at least two years from the date of decision.
