1 1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 481A.49 RECIPROCAL NONRESIDENT
1 2 PHEASANT HUNTING SEASONS – SOUTH DAKOTA.
1 3 The commission shall provide, by rule, that the number of
1 4 days or length of seasons authorized in this state for
1 5 nonresident pheasant hunters who are residents of South Dakota
1 6 shall be the same number or length as the number of days or
1 7 length of seasons authorized for equivalent pheasant hunting
1 8 licenses in the state of South Dakota for licensees who are
1 9 residents of this state. However, the commission shall not
1 10 establish a number of days or length of seasons for
1 11 nonresident pheasant hunters that exceeds the days or length
1 12 of open seasons authorized for resident pheasant hunters.
1 13 EXPLANATION
1 14 This bill provides that the number of days or length of
1 15 seasons authorized in this state for nonresident pheasant
1 16 hunters, who are residents of South Dakota, shall be the same
1 17 number or length as the number of days or length of seasons
1 18 authorized for pheasant hunting licenses in the state of South
1 19 Dakota for licensees who are residents of this state.
1 20 However, the commission shall not establish a number of days
1 21 or length of seasons for nonresident pheasant hunters that
1 22 exceed the days or length of open seasons authorized for
1 23 resident pheasant hunters.
