  The Senate met in regular session at 9:04 a.m., Senator Lundby
  presiding.

  Prayer was offered by the Honorable H. Kay Hedge, member of the
  Senate from Mahaska County, Fremont, Iowa.

  The Journal of Wednesday, January 13, 1999, was approved.

  INTRODUCTION OF BILLS

  Senate Joint Resolution 2, by Maddox and Harper, a joint
  resolution relating to the designation of the Old State Historical
  Building as the Ola Babcock Miller State Office Building.

  Read first time and referred to committee on State Government.

  Senate File 11, by McKean, a bill for an act adopting the uniform
  statutory rule against perpetuities.

  Read first time and referred to committee on Judiciary.

  Senate File 12, by McKean, a bill for an act establishing a
  uniform standard for determination of death.

  Read first time and referred to committee on Judiciary.

  Senate File 13, by Angelo, a bill for an act relating to the
  issuance of deer and wild turkey hunting licenses to a nonresident
  owning a farm in this state.
  Read first time and referred to committee on Natural Resources
  and Environment.

  Senate File 14, by Angelo, a bill for an act providing for an
  additional income tax deduction for the hiring of individuals with
  impairments by any sized business or corporation and including
  effective and retroactive applicability date provisions.

  Senate File 15, by Rehberg, Behn, Redwine, Zieman, King,
  Freeman, Jensen, Boettger, Johnson, McKibben, Rife, Bartz,
  Veenstra, Angelo, and Schuerer, a bill for an act eliminating the state
  inheritance tax and providing for the Act's applicability.

  wherever a motor vehicle may be operated.
