House Journal: Page 789: Tuesday, March 23, 1999

	House File 182, a bill for an act expanding the criminal code definition of serious 

injury to include certain injuries to children.
Also: That the Senate has on March 23, 1999, passed the following bill in which the 
concurrence of the Senate was asked:
House File 332, a bill for an act relating to energy conservation including making 
appropriations of petroleum overcharge funds.
Also: That the Senate has on March 23, 1999, passed the following bill in which the 
concurrence of the House is asked:
Senate File 406, a bill for an act relating to entities and subject matter under the 
regulatory authority of the insurance division, including securities, business 
opportunities, cemetery merchandise and residential service contracts, providing for 
fees, and establishing penalties.

House File 532, a bill for an act relating to assessments prior to 
admission to practitioner preparation programs and prior to initial 
Iowa licensure, was taken up for consideration.
Foege of Linn asked and received unanimous consent to withdraw 
amendment H-1111 filed by him on March 17, 1999.
Foege of Linn asked and received unanimous consent to withdraw 
amendment H-1118 filed by him on March 18, 1999.
Thomson of Linn offered the following amendment H?1119 filed by 
her and moved its adoption:
H-1119
 1     Amend House File 532 as follows:
 2     1.  Page 1, line 18, by striking the words "and
 3   high-risk behavior" and inserting the following:
 4   "addressing high-risk behaviors including, but not
 5   limited to, behaviors".
 6     2.  Title page, by striking lines 1 and 2 and
 7   inserting the following:  "An Act relating to
 8   practitioner preparation programs and providing for a
 9   pilot study to assess the performance of teacher
10   education graduates."
Amendment H?1119 was adopted.
