Mr. Speaker: I am directed to inform your honorable body that the Senate has on March 3, 1999, passed the following bill in which the concurrence of the Senate was asked: House File 330, a bill for an act relating to the supervisory authority of the state banking division with regard to bank holding company acquisitions and the ability of state banks to make loans to any one person. Also: That the Senate has on March 3, 1999, passed the following bill in which the concurrence of the House is asked: Senate File 186, a bill for an act providing that a county enterprise includes housing for persons who are elderly or persons with physical disabilities. Also: That the Senate has on March 3, 1999, passed the following bill in which the concurrence of the House is asked: Senate File 224, a bill for an act relating to proceedings before the utilities board and the provision of competitive utility services by allocating costs incurred by the utilities board and the office of consumer advocate to certain persons in certain proceedings related to providing competitive utility services, and by providing for the certification of competitive natural gas providers and aggregators, and providing an effective date. Also: That the Senate has on March 3, 1999, passed the following bill in which the concurrence of the House is asked: Senate File 232, a bill for an act relating to the establishment of a beginning teacher induction program and making an appropriation. MARSHALL, Secretary CONSIDERATION OF BILLS Regular Calendar House File 299, a bill for an act relating to applications for motor vehicle registration and issuance of certificate of title, with report of committee recommending passage, was taken up for consideration. Rayhons of Hancock moved that the bill be read a last time now and placed upon its passage which motion prevailed and the bill was read a last time. On the question "Shall the bill pass?" Horbach of Tama in the chair at 8:58 a.m. Ways and Means Calendar House File 418, a bill for an act exempting the sale of argon and similar gases used in the manufacturing process from the sales and use taxes, providing limited refunds, and including effective and retroactive applicability date provisions, was taken up for consider- ation. Jenkins of Black Hawk moved that the bill be read a last time now and placed upon its passage which motion prevailed and the bill was read a last time.
