  1  4 PROVIDING FOR THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE ADVISORY BOARD TO THE
  1  5    LEOPOLD CENTER FOR SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE.

  1  7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
  1  8 
  1  9    Section 1.  Section 266.39, subsection 3, Code 1999, is
  1 10 amended by adding the following new paragraph:
  1 11    NEW PARAGRAPH.  h.  Four persons actively engaged in
  1 12 agriculture who are appointed by the titular head of each of
  1 13 the following agricultural organizations:
  1 14    (1)  The Iowa farm bureau federation.
  1 15    (2)  The Iowa farmers union.
  1 16    (3)  The practical farmers of Iowa.
  1 17    (4)  The agribusiness association of Iowa.
  1 18    Sec. 2.  Section 266.39, subsection 3, unnumbered paragraph
  1 19 2, Code 1999, is amended to read as follows:
  1 20    The terms of the members shall begin and end as provided in
  1 21 section 69.19 and any vacancy shall be filled by the original
  1 22 appointing authority.  The terms shall be for four years and
  1 23 shall be staggered as determined by the president of Iowa
  1 24 state university of science and technology.  The members
  1 25 appointed by the titular heads of agricultural organizations
  1 26 shall be reimbursed for actual and necessary expenses incurred
  1 27 while engaged in their official duties, but shall not be
  1 28 entitled to per diem compensation as authorized under section
  1 29 7E.6.
