Senate Journal: Page 1384: Monday, April 15, 1996

         The motion prevailed by a voice vote and amendment S-5768 by
    Senator Freeman to amendment S-5700 was taken up for reconsideration.

         Senator Freeman moved the adoption of amendment S-5768 to amendment
    S-5700, which motion prevailed by a voice vote.

         Senator Drake called for a division of amendment S-5700 as amended:

         Division S-5700A: Page 16, lines 7-50; page 17 and page 18, lines 1
    and 2.

         Division S-5700B: Page 1, lines 3-50; pages 2-15; page 16, lines
    1-6; and page 18, lines 3-36.


         Senator Drake raised the point of order that division S-5700A as
    amended was not germane to the bill.

         The Chair ruled the point not well taken and division S-5700A as
    amended in order.

         Senator Halvorson moved the adoption of division S-5700A as
    amended, which motion prevailed by a voice vote.

         Senator Halvorson moved the adoption of division S-5700B as
    amended, which motion prevailed by a voice vote.

         Senator Rife offered amendment S-5776 filed by him from the floor
    to page 5 of the bill.

         The Chair stated that with the adoption of amendment S-5761,
    amendment S-5776 was out of order.

         Senator Halvorson moved that the bill be read the last time now and
    placed upon its passage, which motion prevailed by a voice vote, and the
    bill was read the last time.

         On the question Shall the bill pass? (H.F. 2421) the vote was:
