         Senator Horn asked and received unanimous consent that Senate File
    2246 be referred from the Regular Calendar to the committee on
    Agriculture.



                             HOUSE MESSAGE RECEIVED

         The following message was received from the Chief Clerk of the
    House:

         MR. PRESIDENT: I am directed to inform your honorable body that the
    House has on March 20, 1996, amended and passed the following bill in
    which the concurrence of the Senate is asked:

         Senate File 2443, a bill for  an act appropriating funds to the
    department of economic development, the Iowa finance authority, certain
    board of regents institutions, the public employment relations board,
    and the department of employment services, and making related statutory
    changes (S-5459).
