Mason City Cerro Gordo County Republican Born on a farm in Butler county, Iowa, on October 10, 1892. Graduate of Bristow high school. Taught school in Butler county from 1910 to 1915. County recorder of Butler county 1916 to 1924. Enlisted in the United States Navy in 1918. Built the Mason City Hatchery, 1926. Established Turkeys Unlimited in Cerro Gordo county, 1929. Extensive livestock feeder, turkey raiser and producer, and farmer. Member of the First Methodist church of Mason City, Masonic lodge, Eastern star, I.O.O.F., Rebecca, Scottish Rite 32nd degree Mason, Elks, Farm Bureau, American Legion and Rotary club. Married Viola Folkers, Allison, 1922. Three children: Idella, age 24, student Columbia university, New York; Bill, age 17; Bonnie, age 14.
