Member of Trinity United Methodist Church, University of Iowa Labor Advisory Committee, American Legion, Elks Club, Lee County Democratic Central Committee, Lee County Labor Council, 50 year member of the United Rubber/Steel Workers Union, and a member of and volunteer with various other community and service organizations.

Born in 1944 and raised on a farm in Clark County, Missouri. Resides in Keokuk.
