Previously elected twice to the Council Bluffs Community School District Board of Education. Member of Eastside Christian Church, Pheasants Forever, Sons of the American Legion, and a life member of the National Rifle Association. Former Pottawattamie County volunteer sheriff's deputy and former Cub Scout cubmaster.
