Past president of NWC Booster Club. Member of the Lions Club, FCA, board member of Village N.W. Unlimited. Member and elder of Central Reformed Church. Twice awarded Professor of the Year at Northwestern College and selected Coach of the Year three times. Morningside College Hall of Fame.

Born and raised in Alton. Resides in Sioux Center.

Wife Dorthy (Dot); one son, one daughter, and two grandchildren.
