Received B.A. from Wartburg College and M.A. from the University of Iowa, Member of Iowa Mental Health Planning Council, Linn County Department of Human Resources Advisory Board, Lutheran Social Service Advisory Board, Iowa State Education Association, American Federation of Teachers, National Association of Social Workers, and S.E. Linn Community Center Board. Wife Susan Salter; five children and eight grandchildren. Serving fourth term in House.
