Education site coordinator. Born, raised, and resides in Waterloo. Graduated from Central High School in Waterloo. Received B.A. in public administration from Upper Iowa University. Currently working on Master's Degree in communications at the University of Northern Iowa. Serves on Waterloo City Council. Member of Northwest Area Foundation, United Way, Volunteer Center of Cedar Valley, Elks Lodge Waterloo, Winnebago Council of Boys Scouts of America, and NCAAP. She is involved with the Community Education Association. As a member of the Waterloo City Council, she is council liaison to the Waterloo Community Development Board, Downtown Main Street, and Waterloo Commission of Human Rights. Received the Networking Together State of Iowa Women of Achievement' Award and the '2000 Human/Community Services' Award from the Greater Waterloo Chapter of Black Social Workers. Member of the Antioch Baptist Church. One son. Serving first term in House.
