Employee of T.I. Case Co. in Burlington. Born in Burlington and raised in Wapello. Resides in Burlington. Served in the U.S. Air Force as an air traffic controller. Served as bargaining chair for UAW Local 807 and continues to serve as 807's safety chair. Served as the Southeast Iowa Community Action Program Chair. Elected to the Burlington School Board and is president of the Board of Education. Former member of the Burlington Civil Service Commission. Serves on the Iowa Judicial Nominating Committee, Iowa Workforce Development Commission, Community Health Centers of Southeast Iowa Steering Committee, and Heartland Center for Occupational Health and Safety Board. Serves as vice-chairperson of the Des Moines County Democratic Party. Serving first term in Senate.
