Member of the Sherman Hill Neighborhood Association, Des Moines Chamber of Commerce, Wallace House Foundation, Neighborhood Investment Corporation, Iowa Children & Family Services, Urban Dreams, and Wilkie House. Wife Sonja Roberts; two daughters. Served six non-consecutive terms in the House. Serving first term in Senate.
