Adjunct instructor. Born, raised, and resides in Sioux City. Graduated from Sioux City North High School. Received B.A. and graduated with honors from Drake University. Received M.A. from Temple University. Member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and Sioux Trails Girl Scout Council Board. Served three years active duty in the U.S. Army and is a Desert Storm veteran. Currently serves in Iowa National Guard. Wife Mary; one daughter. Served four terms in House. Serving first term in Senate.
