Member of American Legion, V.F.W., and director of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ayrshire. Member of various commodity and farm organizations. Served as a tank commander in the U.S. Army during Korean War and received a Bronze Star. Wife Kay; two sons and four daughters. Served in the House from 1961-64 and the Senate from 1965-68. Now serving fifth term in Senate.
