Received A.A. from Southeastern Community College, B.A. from Iowa Wesleyan College, and pursuing graduate degree in special education at the University of Iowa. Served on the Education Commission of States. Member of Oak Street Baptist Church, Burlington Education Association, Geode Education Association, Iowa State Education Association, and Des Moines County Democratic Central Committee. Served six years in U.S. Army National Guard. Serving ninth term in House.
