Vice President, Downtown Community Alliance. Born, raised, and resides in Des Moines. Graduated from Dowling High School. Received B.A. in history and political science from Briar Cliff College. Former board member of the Southside YMCA and board member of Youth Emergency Services and Shelter. Served on Polk County Conservation Board 1988-1993. One son. Served two terms in House. Serving second term in Senate.
