Farmer. Born, raised, and resides in Dows. Graduated from Dows Community High School. Received B.A. in accounting from Buena Vista College. President of the Dows School Board, Past president, trustee, and member of First Lutheran Church. Member American Legion, Farmers Co-op Board, and Iowa Corn Growers Association. Served two years in the US. Marine Corps, where he was promoted four times meritoriously, Wife Vicki; three sons, one daughter, and five grandchildren. Served three terms in House. Serving second term in Senate.
