Military service: 20 years in the U.S. Army, serving in areas of Vietnam, Germany, and Portugal. Numerous awards and decorations including 2 Distinguished Flying Crosses and 2 Bronze Stars. Spouse: Dody. Children: 2 daughters; 1 son. Profession and Activities: Active grain/livestock farmer in Decatur County since 1976. Former chair, board of directors, Farmer's Co-op Elevator, Lamoni. Member: Lamoni Lions Club, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Current President of Senate. Term: Third.
