Born in Davenport, September 23, 1953, son of Robert and Gertrude Arnould. Graduated from Central High School, 1972. Attended Iowa State University and St. Ambrose College. Married Betsy Brandsgard in 1983. Scott County Democratic Party chair, 1976-78. Catholic. Member, Iowa Civil Liberties Union, Council on Children at Risk Board and Iowa Gerontology Model Project Advisory Board. Assistant majority leader, 70th General Assembly. Member: Appropriations, Finance, Human Resources and State Government committees; Social Services Appropriations Subcommittee. Fourth term.
