On advisory board of Lee County Youth Services Inc.; National Council of State Legislators, Legislative Leaders; assistant majority leader, 1976-77; minority leader, 1978-79; and re-elected minority leader, 1980-82. Elected Senate majority leader, 1983-84. Third term.
