Andrew Oliphant Patterson
Muscatine County
Born in Washington county, Pennsylvania in 1826, and was educated at Jefferson College, choosing the law for a profession. After being admitted to the bar at Uniontown, Pa., he removed to Muscatine, Iowa, where he practiced for a number of years. He was at one time president of the First National Bank of Muscatine, and during his residence there was always active in politics, and was elected twice to the legislature of that state serving in the Seventh and Eighth General Assemblies. In 1855, Mr. Patterson married Miss Mary Ann Elliott. He removed to Colorado in '59, being joined here by his family in '61, and was continuously a resident of Golden, and was one or two terms a member of the Colorado legislature.
