Physician of ripe culture and of skill and removed from Lafayette, Indiana, to Des Moines, Iowa. Not long after the establishment of his residence here he was elected by the Republican Party to the office of Senator for this District and discharged the duties of the position with fidelity and ability. On the organization of the Tenth Regiment of Iowa Infantry, he was appointed Surgeon.
