Graduate of Thornburg High School. Married Ethel Cowan of What Cheer. One daughter, Cynthia Kay. In farm and livestock operation, formerly in hardware and implement business. Member Methodist Church, Budget and Financial Control Comm., Governor's Comm. for Employment of the Handicapped. National Comm. for support of public schools. Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, Consistory, El Kahir Shrine, Elks, Lions, Izaak Walton League, Flying Farmers, and Farm Bureau. State Chairman YMCA Youth in Government, Boy Scouts District Executive Council and County Finance Chairman. Former member of Keokuk County School Board and chairman for 10 years. Served in 58th, 59th, 60th, 60th Extra, 61st, 62nd, 63rd and 64th sessions of General Assembly.
