Attended public school, Williams, Iowa; Ellsworth Junior College, Iowa Falls, Iowa; American Institute of Business, Des Moines; Grinnell College, Grinnell, Iowa. Married Violet Michaels; three children: John A. Walker II; Nancy Louise; Steven. Formerly employed by the J. C. Penney Co., Inc., in several states. Actively engaged in farming and banking. Member of Lutheran Church, O.E.S., Masons, Odd Fellows and numerous other organizations. Served four terms in the house; now in sixth session in senate.
