Farmersburg Clayton County Democrat. Born Jan. 29, 1906, son of L. J. and Mary (Lenth) Palas. Graduated from Elkader High School, 1923. Married Ethel Honn in 1930, has one son, Valdean, married. Farmed until 1940, since that time operated farm implement store. Served on school board, also on town council, as councilman and mayor. Member of St. John's Lutheran Church, and has served on the church board. Farm Bureau member. Clayton County Development Association member. Member of Iowa Retail Implement Dealers Association, and now serving as county director. First term in house.
