Born about 1812 and was a native of Pennsylvania, who settled in Iowa in early days. Mr. Rogers was a member of the Iowa Legislature when Iowa City was the capital. He was elected from Scott County for the 28th Representative Districts for the Sixth General Assembly that convened at Iowa City, December 3, 1856, and adjourned January 29, 1857. He was married to Mary Jane Caldwell, a native of Kentucky. Her ancestors were among the pioneer citizens of the city of Piqua, Ohio.
