Born in Indiana on February 26, 1818. He came to this state many years ago and has lived in this county about 50 years. In 1845, he was joined in marriage to Miss Mary Patent. He represented Jefferson County as a member of the lower house in the Sixth Iowa General Assembly, 1856. He is a member of the Methodist Church.
