Graduated from Iowa State Teachers College with B.A. degree in 1955, and M.A. degree in 1956. Ph.D candidate in political science at University of Iowa. Engaged in farming. Married Barbara Ann Speicher; three children, Lee 8, Wendy 5, and Robin Lynn, 6 months. Member of Farm Bureau, State and County Historical Societies, Pi Gamma Mu, Kappa Delta Pi, and Masonic Lodge. Attends Baptist Church. Serving second term.
