Taught economics at Waldorf College, Forest City, Iowa, and at Morningside College, Sioux City. Insurance salesman and chartered life underwriter. Member board of regents, Augustana College, Sioux Falls, S. D. Active member of Chamber of Commerce and Life Underwriters Association. A Mason, member of farm bureau and United Commercial Travelers. Active in Lutheran Church. Married Charlotte Ritland of McCallsburg, Iowa, June 30, 1937. Four children: Karen, Paul, Charlene and Mark. Serving first term.
