Farmington Van Buren County Republican. Born at Indianola, Iowa, Jan. 12, 1889, the son of Charles Curtis and Easter Millen. Raised on a farm and attended school in Indianola and Maquoketa. Married Pearle Wright of Indianola, January, 1913. They have one son, Floyd H. Millen of Farmington, who married the former Betty Coffin, and three grandsons, Randall, Robert and David. Founder of Douds Underground Quarry, Farmington Gravel Company, and Bonaparte Quarry, and other pioneering work, and experimenting in gold and other mineral recovery in Van Buren County. Was general manager and Operator of these operations up to 35 years. He has served as councilman and mayor of Farmington, and the county board of education. Church and lodge member. Serving first term.
