Osceola Clarke County Republican. Born on a farm in Fulton county, Ill., March 10, 1901. Graduated from Kellerton high school, 1920. Studied business administration at Simpson College, 1920- 22. Married Nelle Barnes of Tingley, Iowa. Father of six children. Served as vice chairman of Ringgold County Soil Conservation Committee for five years. Served as president of Ringgold County Fair and as past president and secretary of Clarke County 4-H Fair Association. Chairman of boys' county 4-H committee for three years. 4-H club leader for 20 years. Served as president and secretary of independent school district for several years. Served as vice president of county Farm Bureau. Member of Methodist Church board and has served as veterans' instructor of institutional on-farm training program of the Osceola public school since 1948. Operates 260 acre farm, breeder of purebred Angus cattle and Duroc hogs. Serving his second term.
