Irwin, Shelby County Democrat Born in Irwin, Iowa, December 31, 1903. Youngest son of Peter and Emma Boldt Steenhusen. Graduated from Irwin Consolidated School and began his business career as a boy in the hardware store established 65 years ago by his father, a German immigrant and financier, now deceased. Owns the hardware, feed and seed, furniture and appliance businesses in Irwin, and a 240-acre farm in Crawford county. Married Mildred Humphreys August 30, 1931. Two children: Peter, married, a navy veteran, and in the business: Mrs. Sally Bailey, music teacher and wife of Yale Divinity student. Has always been active in civic affairs. An elder in Church of Christ at Irwin where he has served as chairman of the board for many years. Serving second term.
