Irwin Shelby County Democrat Born in Shelby county, Irwin, Iowa, December 31, 1903. Youngest son of Peter and Emma Boldt Steenhusen. Was graduated from the Irwin consolidated schools and began his business career early in life in his father's hardware store, financier and immigrant from Germany now deceased, who established this business more than 65 years ago. At present owns the hardware, feed and seed, furniture and appliance stores in Irwin. He also owns a 240 acre farm in Crawford county. Married Mildred Humphreys Steenhusen, August 30, 1931. They have a married son, Peter, a navy veteran in the business and a daughter, Sally, taking graduate work at Danbury State Teachers College in Connecticut. Has always taken an active part in community and school affairs. He is an elder in the Church of Christ at Irwin and has served as chairman of the board for many years. Serving first term.
