Spencer Clay County Republican Born at Des Moines, Iowa, on March 17, 1923, the son of E. E. and Lucille (Landess) Cooksey. Educated in Perry, Iowa, public schools. Graduate of Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa, colleges of liberal arts and law. Served from November 4, 1942, until November 7, 1945, in Naval air force. Serving at the present time in the organized naval air reserve. Married on January 26, 1945, at Atlantic City, New Jersey, to Dorothy Jean Kurtzweil of Boone, Iowa. Has one child, David Randall Cooksey, born October 1, 1946. Engaged in practicing law at Spencer, Iowa. Member of Clay county and Iowa State Bar Associations, Spencer Christian church, and American Legion. Serving second term.
