FRANK PEDRICK

Mr. Speaker: Your committee, appointed to prepare a suitable resolution commemorating the life, character, and public service of the late Honorable Frank Pedrick, begs leave to submit the following memorial:

Frank Pedrick was born April 15, 1896 in Wapello County, Iowa, the son of Samuel Manro and Emma Peck Pedrick. He was united in marriage to Isal F. Judd on August 16, 1930 in Ottumwa.

Mr. Pedrick was a retired south Ottumwa retail hardware merchant, and had been associated as a partner with the late David J. Thorne in the Pedrick and Thorne Hardware from 1935 until 1961.

He was an elder emeritus of First Christian Church and a member of Harmony Bible Class there. He was a Navy veteran of World War I; a member of the Empire Masonic Lodge 269, evening Kiwanis Club, Veterans of World War I, Wapello County Historical Society, South Ottumwa Boosters and the American Legion.

Representative Pedrick, a Republican, served in the Fifty-fourth and Fifty-fifth General Assemblies, representing Wapello County.

Frank Pedrick died on May 8, 1981. He is survived by his wife, several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were three sisters and two brothers.

Now Therefore, Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the Sixty-ninth General Assembly of Iowa, That in the passing of the Honorable Frank Pedrick, the State has lost an honored citizen and a faithful and useful public servant, and the House by this Resolution would express its appreciation of his service.

Be It Further Resolved, That a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the Journal of the House, and that the Chief Clerk be directed to forward an enrolled copy to the family of the deceased.
