He was educated in the public schools of Davenport, and attended St. Ambrose College in Davenport. During the session he was a senior law student at Drake University. He is married and the father of two children, Sandra age four, and Walter age ten months. Served in the U.S. navy air forces for three and one half years. Member of the Masonic Lodge, Zerapath Consistory, Kaaba Shrine, Elks, Delta Theta Phi legal fraternity, American Legion, and a member of the Lutheran church. Serving first term.
