WARREN WELLS

Mr. Speaker: Your committee, appointed to prepare a suitable resolution commemorating the life, character, and public service of the late Honorable Warren Wells, begs leave to submit the following memorial:

Warren Wells was born in Coon Rapids, Iowa, November 14, 1880. He married his wife, Cecile, in Papillion, Nebraska in February, 1907. They had one son.

Representative Wells was a member of the Council Bluffs Rotary Club, Director of the United Commercial Travelers, the Za Ga Zig Shrine, a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Scottish Rites Consistory, a Protestant, and a member of the Iowa Tax Commission.

He was a Republican, serving in the Fifty-third General Assembly from Pottawattamie County. He was a delegate to the 1948 Republican National Convention.

Warren Wells died October 28, 1980 and was preceded in death by his wife, Cecile. He is survived by his son, Joe R. Wells, of Council Bluffs.

Now Therefore, Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the Sixty-ninth General Assembly of Iowa, That in the passing of the Honorable Warren Wells, the State has lost an honored citizen and a faithful and useful public servant, and the House by this Resolution would express its appreciation of his service.

Be It Further Resolved, That a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the Journal of the House, and that the Chief Clerk be directed to forward an enrolled copy to the family of the deceased.
