Was graduated from St. Joseph's high school in 1929 and Loras college in Dubuque, Iowa, in 1932. Married to Blanche O. Bailey in 1935 and is the father of three sons and one daughter. Member of St. Joseph's parish, a director of the Elkader Fair Association, a member of the Elkader Service club and Knights of Columbus lodge. Has been engaged in the Automotive and Implement business since 1934 and the Restaurant and Tavern business since 1942.
