Logan Harrison County Democrat Born at Prattville, Alabama, September 22, 1891, son of J. W. and Mary D. Tatum. A graduate of Autauga county high school in Alabama in 1913; B.A. degree University of Alabama in 1917; post-graduate work at Nebraska University summer sessions of 1921-22; LL.B. degree at Cumberland University and taught three years in Iowa and other states. First came north in August, 1919, and worked for both a meat packing house and fruit company in Nebraska. Admitted to practice of law in Tennessee in 1926 and in Iowa in 1927. First practiced with R. J. Organ at Missouri Valley until moving to Dunlap in April, 1928. Since 1931 at Logan. Harrison County Attorney 1931 to 1937; past vice president of County Attorneys' Association of Iowa. World War I veteran, served overseas with 328th Infantry. Is a past commander of the American Legion Post No. 224 of Dunlap and a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Is also a member of the Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star. A member of the Retrenchment and Reform Committee, 50th General Assembly and is now serving third term in legislature. Is a member of Harrison County Selective Service Board.
