Attended Maple Grove at Fort Des Moines and North Des Moines high school. Attended two quarters at Ames. Was in dairy business with father and brothers near Des Moines except two years, 1925 and 1926, until 1934. Married in 1927 to Eva Shelton, of Fostoria, Iowa. Has two boys, Leonard, age 14, and Elwood, age 12. Moved with family to present farm in Milford township. Member of the Methodist church. First term.
