Educated in public schools and Howe's Academy and Teachers' Training School, Mount Pleasant, Iowa. Taught in the schools of Henry county three years. Married and has two children, Carl Leslie, and Doris Alfrida; both graduates of Iowa Wesleyan College. Has taken an active interest in various community activities. Interested in general farming and livestock feeding. Serving second term in legislature.
