Winterset Madison County Republican. S. G. Hoeness, Winterset, Iowa, representative from Madison county, was born in Wuertemberg, Germany, February 28, 1880. He came to America with his parents when he was still a babe. They settled at Bloomington, Illinois, and moved to Iowa in 1894. He attended the rural schools of Madison county. Married to Mable Comp December 21, 1904. Father of two sons, Lloyd C. and Harry E. On September 9, 1936, was married to Mrs. Bertha E. McDonald. He has been a livestock feeder and farmer all of his life, residing on his 240 acre farm. He has given much time to the development of his community, serving on Y.M.C.A. board, county Farm Bureau chairman and secretary for several years. Member of the County Council of Religious Education. Vice president of the Tri-County National Farm Loan Association. Member of the Pitzer United Presbyterian church; Bible School teacher for over 40 years. Serving first term.
