Born in 1813 in Fort Franklin which stood upon the present site of Columbus, Ohio. In his time Mr. Weatherington was a man of considerable prominence in Van Buren County. He married Miss Mary Weiny August 3, 1841 in Franklin, Ohio. He was a farmer by trade. A member of the Constitutional Convention of Iowa. He represented Van Buren County in the Fifth Iowa General Assembly, 1854. He moved to Sonoma County, California in 1862. He served on the board of supervisors for Santa Rosa, California, and held other official positions. Mr. Weatherington died January 10, 1898, and is buried in Santa Rose Rural Cemetery.
