Born in Washington County, Pennsylvania. He represented Lee county in the Fifth General Assembly, 1854. He married Agness Nancy Brown in June of 1812. He was a true man, honest and firm in his convictions, a warm and steadfast friend. He has ever been regarded as a man of pure moral principles, and greatly esteemed by all who knew him.
